Kathleen E. Rusler O’Connor is a part-time
associate at Mardell Law Office rejoining the office in 2005. Ms. O’Connor
previously practiced with Mardell Law Office from 1995 to 2000.
Ms. O’Connor’s fifteen years of experience
provide a broad base of knowledge to serve her clients. Ms. O’Connor
served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Duane R. Harves (now
retired), providing her with unique insight into the judicial system.
She practiced Commercial Litigation and Personal Injury in Minneapolis
and then shifted her emphasis to Family Law when she joined Mardell
Law Office in 1995.
Ms. O’Connor is a fifteen year resident
of Dakota County and a community leader. She is currently the chairperson
of the Hastings Economic Development Commission. She was appointed
to the commission by the Hastings City Council in 2003 and was renewed
for a second three-year term in 2006. She served as President and Vice
President of a local nonprofit with an annual budget of approximately
$750,000.00. She also served as President of AAUW — Hastings Branch.
Education
Ms. O’Connor earned her Juris Doctor degree
from Hamline University School of Law in May 1990, with honors (Silver
Gavel Honor Society) (top 10% of class). She was a member of the Hamline
University Law Review and Journal of Law and Policy. She also received
the American Jurisprudence award in Evidence. Ms. O'Connor received
her undergraduate degree in May 1987 from Concordia College — Moorhead,
Minnesota.

Ms. O’Connor was admitted to the Minnesota
Bar in 1990.
